Gltf - obj import (threeJS)

Could there be a way in the future to directly import obj or gltf models into hype?

Hi Mike, thanks for the suggestion. Here's a few options for embedding 3d models in Hype and other reading on the topic:

Modeling 3d glTF

There are no built-in methods in Hype that allow embedding that format, but you could use this JavaScript library to display the format: https://threejs.org/docs/#examples/loaders/GLTFLoader This page has a working example: https://threejs.org/examples/?q=glt#webgl_loader_gltf There are a few other ways to embed the GLTF format: https://www.khronos.org/gltf/

Hype3D (and minimum word-counts for titles is pretty silly)

Our main company goal is to build tools for bleeding-edge web technologies. WebGL definitely qualifies, and it is something I’ve also thought might be a good area to get into. At the same time, I’m not really sure what the best contributions would be - many of the existing tools (Unity/Unreal) I believe have WebGL export options and they are very mature. So we’ll continue thinking where we might contribute - but if you have any specific ideas where there are deficiencies in the tooling let us …
