Hey everyone, new Hype Pro user here!

First of all, I’d like to thank the Tumult team for creating such an incredible piece of software, I’m an AfterEffects user and everything in Hype just made sense and clicked almost instantly - within two hours of downloading the trial I had imported some svg graphics, animated and published my first animation! (you can see it here if you’re curious, scroll down the page and it should start playing automatically).

Ok, a bit more about me:

  • I’m Diego Rodriguez
  • I’m a graphic designer/web developer/animator
  • I live in Buenos Aires, Argentina
  • My first language is spanish
  • Only a little animation so far (see the link above)
  • I’m a beginner on Hype, but advanced hotoshop & After Effects user
  • My favorite animation tools are AfterEffects and Cinema 4D (and Hype
  • The first animation tool I used was 3DStudio 1.0 (for DOS - yeah I’m old!)
  • Fav animated film: Wall-E

Those are very nice - they are subtle enough to not be distracting but still provide a visual improvement to make the page less static!

This thread is fun. I don’t think I ever introduced myself on this forum. I am Max from Germany. Grew up in Spain and England. Now I call Berlin my home. I started programming with Locomotive Basic on a CPC464 from Schneider and haven’t stopped since but always had loved the graphical side of things even though in the beginning that was 16 colors (shades of green) and 320x200 pixel and manually addressing the graphic memory. Actually all it took to get me hooked on computers at an early age was something like this …

10 PRINT " /\ "
20 PRINT "    ||     "
30 PRINT "    ||     "
40 PRINT " /\ "
50 FOR I=1 to 40
60 PRINT " "
80 GOTO 10

This was a flying rocket on screen pushed up through the empty rows in the loop (50,60,70). One could even use an additional loop counting to 100 to delay the computer. Funny to imagine that today.

Slightly off topic. But then again not. Pascal, C++ and Autdesk Animator. Later I fell in love with the ad-industry and worked for agencies with Flash, Aftereffects, 3Dmax and early Photoshop.
These days I use Sublime, Hype, still Aftereffects and still Photoshop.

I came to the Mac around Steve Jobs return in 1998 and left behind Dune2000, Doom and Syndicate as I was a PC-User at the time. Stayed with the Apple ever since and love it. I changed to getting things done with Mac OS 8/9 away from screwing with motherboards and reinstalling Windows 95 for the 5 time in a year.

I owned Datasetten and streamertapes in my life.
TextPad was my goto Editor on MS DOS.
Norton Command was my buddy on the PC.
BBEdit was my first Mac Texteditor.

I love Hype as it reminds me of Flash witch I started using under macromedia. Flash 4 later took off like hell. Then again Hype is so much more as it is structured with it’s own logic but still open to all the HTML/CSS and specially JS-stuff. Flash back then was more like a little island and Flash 4 introduced programming to expand it … proto.layer51.com (now offline) was a little code heaven for devotees to the product. I maintained some code there. A animation library based on Robert Penners easing functions and a XPath like XML-Parser (XMLObject/XMLSA). To say it in the words of AS1:

tellTarget("../hype") {

I guess I am a slight nerd at times but have evolved to love good music, cooking and philosophy.

This is my second time returning to this forum as a weekly driver. Hope this time summer won’t blow me away to new shores as I still got some ideas …

I am Raff, an editor at SnailDriver.com, free tool that keeps drivers on people’s pc up to date. In the meanwhile, I am working with a team focusing on the development of hosting-related apps.

It is the first time that I know about Tumult, and it looks interesting. I built my site using an auto-builder that I thought is the most advanced tool I’ve ever used, now I am going to have a close look at Tumult.

Hi, I’m sort of a long-time-brand-new to hype user. I’m not a web developer. I’ve been a product designer, UI/UX designer and 3D modeler in the games industry.
I experimented with hype when it came out in 2011. I loved what it did but it didn’t match up well with my production needs at the time.
I’m now working on a portfolio and thought this would be a great tool for the job!

I have been studying @DBear’s and @h_classen’s examples among others too.

(David Duncan) #127

Hi! My name is David Duncan.

I work in advertising and I use Hype to create animated banner ads for websites.

I live in Los Angeles, CA.

My native language is English.

I recently completed an entry for the Vector Animation contest, a short piece titled ‘Morning Coffee’.

I consider myself to be a ‘mid-level’ to ‘advanced’ animator, however, I am very much a ‘beginner’ when it comes to coding and interactive design/animation.

My background is in Adobe After Effects, and it is still a favorite tool of mine, but I also really enjoy Cinema4D.

My first animation tool was After Effects.

Despite my career choice, I don’t have a favorite animated film!

Nice to meet everyone! I’m very happy to be here.

I use hype for interactive ads, slideshows, video exports recreations and such. I’ve played around with hype in the early days but at that time it was more of an experimental phase. It wasn’t until 2016 that I got heavily into it thanks to hype pro.

Some of my work can be found here

Hype related ads test blog

When I don’t use Hype.
I’m a big fan of upgrading MacPro’s from 2007-2010

And at times I use Ableton Live to compose EDM and experiment with sounds. I love tweaking sounds. My favorite synths have to be the iconic TB-303, Access Virus C, TI recently switched to virtual Instruments - for those heavily into music production don’t judge I still love hardware.

I’m Steve from Leeds, Been using Hype since around September 2018 so very much a newbie to it all, I’ve managed to pick up quite a lot and have created several HTML5 banners for use across the web. I’m looking forward to getting involved with the community here and picking everyones brains!

Currently working as a Digital Designer for a large sports company
I call home Leeds, in the UK
Native language is English
Currently I’m making HTML5 Banners for use in DCM
Novice, for sure, the programme is fairly intuitive but there’s so much more to learn!
I’m Photoshop through and through!
Adobe Animate & was quite good for certain stuff but working with DCM added several more steps out of the programme to get the creative prepped.
Spirited Away or any Studio Ghibli
