Again, I have no idea how difficult it would be implement, but it would help a lot to be able to "un-dock" the tabs for JS functions, Head HTML, etc. into their own floating windows so we could see the scene as well as our code. Listing as important since it would help boost productivity.

at least for functions and Head it feels even more comfortable to work with an external editor because they have better js-substitution.
@Daniel even built a snippet extension :
Tumult Hype supports editing in external editors, and to help speed up workflows for those of you working in Visual Studio Code, I published a snippet extension that makes writing Hype API code super fast.
When you start typing something like shownex, you'll see all the Hype API functions which contain that string with a helpful bit of documentation as well. Arrow down to select the function you want, and you can then tab between all the function's properties.
I may have missed one or two, so …
But in general +1 for floating windows!

+1 Yes, because it allows to fulfill the long standing request for multi monitor setups often found with designers.
And I am very certain that I can’t add a
+1 for @ktewes , too
