Don’t we have another way to use customer fonts then embedding them or working with svg?
At the end, I would like to validate my banners as gdn- or dcm-banner.
How are you doing this?

There is always the option of using broken path SVG versions imported from Sketch or XD in banners. Even simpler are PNG‘s (@2x) shrinked with optimizers.
More suggestions, anybody else?
