If what you’d like to avoid is the ‘snapping’ that happens when you move an object, you can hold ⌘ while moving an element to avoid that behavior. Or at the top menu, select Arrange > Snap elements and Points to disable snapping. There isn’t a way at the moment to disable the automatic guides.
