Reduce banner size for Google Ads & DCM (_2x images)

Hi all,

I am currently working on the reduction of the banner after the export for Google Ads & DCM.
Like for example I resize JPGs and compress SVGs.

But what I am not so clear about _2x files which are created on export. I read here that Google removed support for 2x images and so my questions is, if it’s save to remove them from the folders or probably from the code as well (to avoid 404 for example).

How to you handle folder size reduction before .zip compression of banners?

if you have autooptimisation choosed, you should not delete those files …

To elaborate, you would uncheck this in the Resources Library for the selected image assets:
