Can you elaborate on what you are trying to do and how your hype document is structured? It might be best to attach a zip of your current .hype document to give advice.
Maybe they mean this... Notification - Web APIs | MDN ...like web browser notifications. If it's push notifications, like in an app, there's a lot more work to do.
