One button Jigsaw Puzzle

Hi everyone, like always showing what’s new in my one button site. For a while I was wonder how to solve a jigsaw puzzle with a single button and yesterday I decided to try something simple and came up with this.

I think is not the best solution but it is fun to solve, once finish the details I can make a catalog of images to solve.

Hope you like it.

I like the idea - the illustration anyway - but it´s not very intuitive. It took me a while to understand the navigation concept and the way, how to rotate the tiles either once or twice…

Sorry, I always believe that everybody knows the one button project called “c1ic“ and never add instructions to every game or interactive, but you solved it

The game is part of a series of accessible games and toys, all can be played with a single button, in this case the mouse button.

I use broken computer mouses to build solutions that then take to Foundations where kids with disabilities can play my games or places with elder people.

Yesterday I also build this box.

Ah, I didn't know that. That explains a lot... Cool stuff...

This will help

Oh, that's very nice! Once you get the grasp of it, it works pretty quickly. I think this type of selection is okay for a smaller number of items.

On a similar note, I'm reminded a bit by this game that had several other dynamics that were single click. Most were timing based though, I'm not sure if that would present an accessibility issue for your audience or not:

Yeap, the difficulty is in the image, I want to try animated images and more difficult patterns.

Wow, very interesting game, there are too many things I want to try, I want more then one mechanic in a single game, I’m getting better in game dev using hype so lets keep working, thanks for the recommendation.

Hello José. Thanks for your inspiration!! As promised - here´s a first beta of my version, which varies your basic principle:

• The tiles can be rotated by clicking.
• The tiles are randomly rotated at fixed time intervals.
• Tiles that are in the correct position are no longer rotated automatically, but they can still be rotated by clicking (though of course they shouldn’t be…)
• Once all tiles are in the correct position, the puzzle is solved.

Have fun!

:grimacing:  OOOh I forgot to upload my solution, sorry!

Your games is awesome, I really love those kind of jigsaw puzzles, so simple but so fun to play with, so much potential there. I was adding more images, also animated and a couple of them the characters talk at the end, and add more difficult ones.

I’m still experimenting, but here are some examples.

@ktewes that was a fun dynamic for the game! I enjoyed it and the stress of knowing that things were going to rotate on me. A couple of bits of feedback:

Yeah, it might be nice if there was a way to mark that I'm okay with the present position without having to rotate. Also it'd be nice if the auto-rotate was maybe blocked slightly so it didn't happen while I was clicking (like each click would set the timer back ~0.25 seconds).

I would have liked to see my time at the end to know how fast I solved it, to see if I could do better next time .
