Mouse doesn't follow drag

Hey gang! A new crazy issue with my project. One of the widgets in the "book" (Old iBooks Author language but I'm an old dog) has a temperature slider.

The mouse does not follow the slider though - I've got to stop partway and head back up. Not a huge deal, but my partner is thinking it'll be distracting to students - I'm fairly confident they've dealt with worse.

Just shorten the length of your animation - 4 secs work pretty good for me...

Goodness but that worked! Part of me was thinking we I needed a smooth animation of about 1 second for each temperature in range - but - now I get it... the timing doesn't matter - it's the user who controls things.
