Have a look at this thread. In there we discuss animating a symbol containing an animation (could also be motion path driven) t a certain extent like 50 percent and still using an easing function. There are two approaches (one driven by data-set defined easing function and the other with a timeline driven easing function) in there already and even more generic update is in the works.

Here is an inverse version of your idea. It uses the width of a “hidden” element we can control using setElementProperty to drive the progression of the symbols Main Timeline. There actually is. The problem is that the runtime doesn’t offer it as a “string” preset but there is a hidden feature to pass in a function into the easing function. Here is also a version that offers an alternative based on a timingTimeline dataset value allowing for manual setup of the duration and easing in the editor.
