Masking an image in with a custom svg or path

Is there any way to mask a jpg with a custom path from illustrator...either as a svg...or somehow importing paths from illustrator?

Hype Clip Path (for the Vector-Tool) @MaxZieb did some great work here ... works for Hypepaths ... (out of my head it also supports external svg-path, but those can not be animated by Hype)
