Is hype working with mac os beta 27 golden gate?
Yes, but if you run into any issues please let us know!
Thank you. I cant open many files from 2026. (older files i can 2025).
ERROR: The document ".....hype" could not be opened. Hype cannot open files of this type.
Would it be possible for you to file this as an issue within the app so we can get logs, and then also zip your .hype document and add it to the files section? (via the 'Help > Report an Issue…' menu when Hype is launched)?
Can you also let me know:
- Was your file saved in a network, synced, or otherwise non-standard directory? (even if it is on the desktop, are you using the icloud desktop feature?)
- Is the location of your 2025 file and 2026 file in noticeably different spots?
- How are you trying to open? Double-clicking in the finder? choosing the file > open menu, etc?
Hopefully we can figure out what is happening. Thanks!
First time opening a .hype file after updating to Golden Gate I had no issues, but after a few minutes is got the message "The folder “Resources” doesn’t exist." Now I cannot open the file anymore and I get the same message every time....
Update: I think it was a one drive issue. After the file crashed, the file size became 0 bytes. I was able to recover file, however I was still not able to open it. I then zipped the file and again unzipped the file. After this I was able to open the file again.
Hmm, can you elaborate on what you mean by "after the file crashed?" (specifically was it a Hype app crash or something else?) Thanks!
So my MacBook just updated to Golden Gate and I opened the specific hype file. I was editing it and after maybe two minutes after opening it, the hype fully crashed. Then I tried to reopen it, I got the message "The folder “Resources” doesn’t exist.". Also the file size was 0 bytes instead of 2.6MB as it was before. After recovering the file (in one drive) from the day before, I was still unable to open it. I get the message "The document “briefing.hype” could not be opened. Hype cannot open files of this type.". So I copied the file from onedrive to my desktop, zipped it and unzipped it, and now it works again.
Thanks - I see two crash logs in our system that you reported... both crashed when trying to read the (must be corrupt) file. I wonder if One Drive was making some sort of mutation under-the-hood and Hype could not handle that properly.
Would it be possible to look to see if there were any other crashes that didn't get logged in our system? If so, can you please email these to support@tumult.com? This might also pinpoint the original issue.
- In the Finder, hold down option and choose the "Go > Library" menu item
- Navigate to ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/ and send me any files beginning with Hype
Thanks!
To get you going though: Do you have backups of the original file? (the .hype document is best, but if you have an export elsewhere you might also be able to do a Help > Restore Document from Export… menu but this will lose a bit of data).
