Keyframing scene gravity

In a series of games that I’m prototyping it would be very useful to be able to change the gravity of the scene. It seems not too complex and would provide many creative possibilities.
I am aware that a physics API is exposed in version 4 but adding that possibility in the timeline, without coding, would be great.
