Hi, I'm currently in the development stage of creating a final project for my 2D Web Animation class at school, and I'm having a hard time understanding what I'm supposed to do.
My instructor gave this description,
“For the first part of the final project, you'll be repeating the inclass digital signage example with some variations. Instead of a digital sign for Saint Paul College, create a project for a potential client which would utilize digital signage. Browse the All Over Media website and other companies for inspiration and notice when you encounter digital signage in your everyday life. Potential types of clients could be restaurants, fitness centers, grocery stores, movie theaters, gas stations or any other businesses which employ digital signs. Use the same dimensions presented in the project for the overall container, as well as the main, headline and time sections. Add solid borders to all three inner sections and apply either gradients or repeating patterns on the backgrounds of the main and headline sections. Either create the gradients/patterns yourself or find patterns from the Internet which are licensed under Creative Commons or similar licenses. Continue to use a solid background for the time section.”
“For the main section, create at minimum of six scenes and use something other than the “Instant” scene transition to move from scene to scene. Verify the last scene smoothly transitions to the first scene to create a looping effect. Include both images and text in each scene and animate position, rotation, scale, opacity and other parameters in exciting, visually interested ways. At least one scene should contain audio and/or video, another scene should contain path animation while a third scene should utilize some of the techniques used in the kinetic typography assignment. Part of your final grade will be determined on scene complexity and visual appeal, so avoid boring simple text movements like those used in the inclass assignment. Please put some time and energy into the main section to create something you'd be proud to display in your online portfolio.”
“For the headline section, create at least six headlines and stories which differ from the ones given for the inclass example. Review the Javascript videos presented in class and see the instructor is you have questions or concerns modifying the Javascript files given to you in class.”
“Use different font families and font colors for the time section but keep the basic functionality the same as the in class example”
I'm having a difficult time understanding what I'm supposed to do here and can't find many good examples of digital signage that I would like to replicate because I'm not super familiar with the subject.
Is there anyone who can help me out?
