Is there a way to embed a custom hype widget on a Facebook page?
If you can get Edit Tabs And custom tabs on your facebook page then It may be possible using FBML.
But I am unable to check further as I think to get access to FBML and custom Tabs, you need a load of likes on the page first..?

Thank you for your time. I read your link and tried to implement but can't work it out . I will give a more carefull try when I have the time. But it seems very complicated which is disappointing......Facebook is to blame of course
