Can HypePro be temporarily downgraded to the standard version to test some projects?
Or can I use two licenses on the same Mac? I need to work on some basic projects.

The trial has that option. I'm not sure that will work for you though, as you already have Hype and the trial expires.

I tried to download a fresh copy but it uses the same pro license
If you need to switch back and forth a lot I think the way to do it would be to remove the license info and give you an extended trial so you get the menu to change editions. I'll DM you with the specific instructions.
