Has Anyone Used Tumult Hype Animations in TikTok Ads or Posts? Tips?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been experimenting with Tumult Hype for some interactive web animations and I’m curious if anyone here has ever used their Hype projects as part of TikTok content — whether for organic posts or paid ads.

Are there any best practices you’d recommend for optimizing Hype animations so they look smooth and crisp on iPhones when shared on TikTok? Do you usually export as video, GIF, or is there a smart way to embed interactive elements?

I’d love to hear how you handle file sizes, resolution, and any tricks for keeping animations looking good within TikTok’s compression. Also, any workflow tips for getting Hype projects into TikTok’s editor would be super helpful.

The content you can publish is images or videos. Hype is useful for preparing videos or GIFs.
Hype is useful for this type of content because it allows you to create animations that cannot be replicated with video compositing (and in any case with less skill than a video FX operator).

One limitation of hype is the audio management but in that case you would still have to use a video editing program to add music (which must be royalty-free) and possibly other texts if necessary.

my combo is Hype -> Video + Capcut (Pro)

BTW: There is also another business to create gifs to upload to giphy and to be able to use them on social media too.

Thanks so much for sharing this — really helpful!
I hadn’t thought about using CapCut Pro for adding audio and text — makes total sense, especially since TikTok’s built-in editor can be a bit limited.

When you export from Hype, do you use any specific settings for resolution or frame rate to keep it crisp after TikTok compresses it?

Also, that GIF idea for Giphy is interesting — have you found it helps boost your reach on other platforms too?

By the way, I recently started testing TikTok 18 (which I found through ProTikTok18) — it offers some extra editing tools that the official app doesn’t, so it’s been handy for tweaking Hype exports too.

9:16 / 3:4 ( always portrait) HD 30frame per second Hi quality. Capcut deliver preset for any social.

Giphy authenticates your work (after rigorous verification of brand identity and consistency) and lets people spread the word/tag about your brand through a GIF in their stories or comments. After verification, the full version becomes available in GIF add-ons for META apps. this is an example, some gif are made in Hype

Giphy is a company that collects content, certifies it and makes it available elsewhere. If the rules are violated, the content also disappears. It is a promotional service with a guarantor paid by Meta.
