I looked around and didn't see this feature request. I would like a way to set the default flexible layout for every new item imported or created. Most of my scenes are built to "fit to fill" the viewport. Currently every element I import or create I have to change the pinning and sizing and zoom.
I wish I could set the default behavior of Hype to always import or create new elements with this behavior.
This is currently my top #1 feature request and would speed up my workflow and prevent me from wondering why my added text is not in the position I placed it when I preview in the browser.
We've wanted to revamp a bit how flexible layout settings are approached. Some other tools are "smart" about which pins to use. I'm not sure that alone would solve your issue, but we could definitely think more about how to have options apply to new elements (in fact, this is semi-useful for more than just the flexible layout options).
Yes please! The more customizable settings the better.
This one alone would save me an hour a month. But would also like to set default text size, color, style, alignment, and typeface.
Another suggestion would be to set a preference to "Always Record." That way you don't need to remember to hit the record button in each timeline -- just make your changes it the timeline -- which is more similar to Adobe After Effects.
Thanks! I definitely understand having consistency across tools is important, but regarding recording, this isn't likely to change. The motivating factors would be to keep Hype operating as existing users know and also in our opinion this model from a UI standpoint is a lot more fiddly and accident-prone.
