Can you tell what this was created in please?

Hi there. I'm about to quote a client for recreating the animation seen on a competitor site (https://www.scottgroupltd.com/pallets/pallet-recovery/) under 'Pallet Recovery'. My question is: can anyone tell what format this animation is in please? I can recreate in Hype easily but when it comes to handing over the animation to the client I wondered what format I should use? I'll have limited (read: none) access to their website and need to hand over a file for their designer to use. I'm thinking a video so they can autoplay on their site, but what would others recommend please?). My question is: can anyone tell what format this animation is in please? It was created in After Effects and exported to https://aescripts.com/bodymovin/

I wrote a post comparing Bodymovin / Lottie and Hype: https://medium.com/@tumult/creating-an-animated-logo-in-tumult-hype-comparing-the-after-effects-bodymovin-lottie-workflow-b7808848f4ff -- it goes into some of the Bodymovin processes. Your client may have a After Effects file they can share with you which would be helpful as a starting point to recreate this.

Thank you Daniel for the swift reply, much appreciated. I'll have a read through the blog post.

I'll be looking to build something similar with Hype as wasn't sure which export format I should go for when complete. I think the 'safest' would be a simple video since I'm handing it over to them.

If I was also building the site myself (that the animation is going on) , I'd really REALLY love the ability to export the final animation as a Lottie file (since I use Webflow, its a really simple integration).

Is there any plans on the horizon for such an export, or anything I can do at this stage to get my Hype animation converted to a Lottie file (I don't have After Effects).

If it’s going to be hosted on the web you should export as HTML from Hype. It will end up looking sharper and will load faster.

Exporting as a video would make sense if you were delivering a video as a final product for them, but if it is going on a website you definitely want to get this in HTML and JavaScript (which Hype will do, similar to a Lottie export). Of course there might be multiple purposes for this so you could do both…

Brilliant, many thanks for the explanation Daniel.
