Blur Filter Effects making animation choppy in Firefox

(Greg) #1

When I use the Blur filter effect to blur out a background image, the animation in my hype document becomes really choppy. Is there anything I can do about this? I did select the ‘WebKit Acceleration’ option.

Thx!

is the blur-effect anyhow animated¿

In general, blurring is a computationally expensive task. Larger areas and blur radii will result in slower performance. You’re welcome to send a zip of your .hype document and there may be specific advice.

If it isn’t animated and there’s not much that can be done, you may want to consider pre-rendering it in a bitmap editor (like photoshop) first.

(P.S. The WebKit acceleration option only applies to Safari/Chrome)
