Ideas For Hype 5 Features…

While researching JavaScript based Physics engines, I was wondering if Matter.js is still a good idea. There seems to be a bottleneck…

So while looking at alternatives, I saw this…

It looks like it could solve the problems with Physics in Hype…

Although, I thought this was odd… “The Getting Started Guide, Examples and API Documentation are Copyright 2025 Phaser Studio Inc and are not for commercial use or distribution.”

So, I'm not sure if I'm going to stick with Matter.js or use Phaser-box2d for my next project. :thinking:

But, since there's been a new discussion about Hype 5.0, it seems like something important to mention here.


Do you think Tumult Hype should switch Physics engine
  • No — Stick With Matter.js
  • Yes — Switch to Phaser-Box2D
  • Both — Let the developer pick the game engine in Hype
