Well, technically I used an emulator.
It's the NES Classic Edition,
so I think that's Nintendo friendly.
This one's not meant to be a tutorial. It's pretty basic anyway. It's mainly vector lines / shapes, with a line draw transition from zero to 100%. Those lines are staggered, to create that flowing animation effect.
While I have used a green background, and then removed it with the “Masks and Keying” effect in Final Cut Pro, this one's just a straight black background. So, it plopped right into the project with no fuss.
It's just an exported video file, a nice and easy effect — I'm surprised it's not that common. There have been some trouble exporting advanced video files, but the code in the first post fixed that problem. I haven't had to use it recently.
If people are looking for a tutorial, the “Heart” template is a good example of this line drawing technique.
