Do you know what the cutoff date of the internet inputs is? That’s amazing.

A good way to test this is to set the temparature to 0 and ask it:

Question:
What date is it today?

Answer:
Today is August 11th, 2020.

I repeated the process several times. Always the same answer… this makes we wonder if this was mainly a refinement rather than adding a huge chunk of recent data.

This also confirms that the AI is still "living" in 2020 … answers have become better, but data is still not updated. These answers are also at setting 0… (hardly, no creativity):

Question:
What is going on in Ukraine?

Answer:
The Ukraine is currently facing a political crisis. In 2014, a pro-Russian government was overthrown in a revolution, and since then, the country has been in a state of political turmoil. Russia has annexed the Crimean peninsula and is supporting separatists in the eastern part of the country. The Ukrainian government is currently in a conflict with Russia, and the situation is further complicated by the presence of international forces. The conflict has resulted in thousands of casualties and has caused a humanitarian crisis in the region.

Question:
What is the current status between the two countries?

Answer:
The current status between Ukraine and Russia is tense. Russia has annexed the Crimean peninsula and is supporting separatists in the eastern part of the country. The Ukrainian government is in a conflict with Russia, and the situation is further complicated by the presence of international forces. The conflict has resulted in thousands of casualties and has caused a humanitarian crisis in the region. The two countries are currently in a state of political stalemate, with no resolution in sight.

And now we got a bot…

What really is different this time around is not only the refinement of GTP (3.5), but the huge rolling, 8000 token window. This allows the bot to learn the entire Hype API just by pasting it and the even add some coding guidelines… plus the conversational nature of this allow to refine solutions:

What was the main style of Karl Popper when writing. List 5 key messages

Karl Popper was known for his critical approach to philosophy and his defense of the scientific method. Some key messages in his writing were:

  1. The importance of falsifiability as a criterion for distinguishing scientific theories from non-scientific ones.
  2. The rejection of the idea that theories can be verified or proven, and the emphasis on the provisional nature of scientific knowledge.
  3. The need for an open society that allows for critical debate and the free exchange of ideas.
  4. The dangers of political ideologies, particularly those that advocate for the suppression of dissenting viewpoints.
  5. The value of skepticism and the importance of challenging accepted beliefs and theories in order to advance knowledge.

Now apply these objectives to a future of Human and AI coexistence.

In terms of the future of human and AI coexistence, these key messages from Karl Popper could be applied as follows:

  1. The development of AI should be guided by the principle of falsifiability, in order to ensure that it is based on scientific principles and can be tested and improved over time.
  2. The existence of AI should not be seen as proof of its superiority or inherent superiority over humans, but rather as a tool that can be used to enhance human capabilities and address specific challenges.
  3. In order to promote the coexistence of humans and AI, it will be important to foster an open and inclusive society that encourages collaboration and dialogue between the two.
  4. It will be crucial to avoid the development of political ideologies that seek to suppress or exclude one or the other, and to instead focus on finding ways for humans and AI to work together for the common good.
  5. In order to ensure the continued progress and development of both humans and AI, it will be important to maintain a healthy level of skepticism and to challenge assumptions and accepted beliefs in order to foster innovation and discovery.

Now, counter these 5 points with a lesson taken from history.

As with any complex topic, there are always multiple perspectives and potential challenges to consider. In terms of the future of human and AI coexistence, some potential lessons from history that could be used to counter the points made above might include the following:

  1. While the principle of falsifiability is a valuable tool for evaluating scientific theories, it is not a perfect or infallible guide. In some cases, theories that were initially considered unfalsifiable have later been proven to be true, and in other cases, theories that were initially considered to be scientific have later been shown to be flawed or inadequate.
  2. Throughout history, there have been many instances of technologies or tools that were initially seen as complementary to human capabilities, but which later became sources of conflict or competition. For example, the development of agricultural tools and machines led to the displacement of human labor, and the rise of the automobile led to the proliferation of suburbs and the decline of urban centers.
  3. While open societies and the free exchange of ideas are generally considered to be beneficial, there are also risks associated with them. In particular, the spread of misinformation or false ideas can lead to harmful consequences, and there have been instances in history where the suppression of certain viewpoints has been necessary in order to protect the well-being of society as a whole.
  4. Throughout history, political ideologies have played a significant role in shaping human societies, and there is no reason to believe that this will change in the future. In some cases, these ideologies have been based on a belief in the inherent superiority of one group over another, and have led to violence, oppression, and other forms of social conflict.
  5. While skepticism and the willingness to challenge accepted beliefs can be valuable in driving progress and innovation, it is also important to recognize that there are limits to what can be known and understood. In some cases, the pursuit of knowledge for its own sake can lead to unproductive or even harmful outcomes, and it is important to consider the potential consequences of our actions before embarking on new ventures.

I'm pretty impressed alone that it understands kendo terminology and can produce something I'd at least call pretty funny (when prompted for "comedic").

I took the beginning of the story and tasked ChatGTP to imagine the scenery. Stable Diffusion 2.1 (Dreamstudio) came up with the images.

Haha!

I had tried some kendo inputs into stable diffusion before, and wound up having to do a lot of working around like "Samurai" and such to get anything reasonable. That's one reason I was so surprised with ChatGPT, since it did seem to have enough understanding for what kendo actually is.

OpenAI has once again set the benchmark with the release of Dall-E 3. Not only does it deliver unparalleled image quality, but its precise adherence to instructions showcases its deep understanding of user intent. While it's presently integrated with a straightforward Microsoft image creator, the upcoming collaboration with ChatGPT Plus promises to elevate the user experience by tailoring prompts based on ongoing conversations.

Here's an illustration of image creation. Observe how it meticulously aligns with the prompt, accurately represents the text, and vividly captures the intended emotion.

I notice two things here:

  1. for some reason (possibly copyright) the spelling on the cover is not correct.

  2. the AI is apparently slowly learning to correctly represent human fingers in its images. This has always been a very obvious weakness so far.
Most of the people in the images so far had 4 or 6 or even more fingers. Often as long as the whole forearm.

This apparently works better now.
