I think the key thing that will help you here is structuring your content into groups and setting specific pinning properties on those groups. The specific issue above looks like you have flexible layout set on the height dimension of your document, so things are getting squished up. I recommend letting the height flow naturally, but being strategic about how your elements fit the width of the available space.
