SHIFT Drag an object shouldn’t maintain proportions ?
I am an able to manually resize an element with constrain proportions.
Pardon me I’m locked with Ai
Shouldn’t use SHIFT
SHIFT drag does maintain proportions. How are you using it?
SHIFT + ALT also resizes from centre point.
You can also turn this on and off by checking the box in the Metrics inspector.

Since I’m influenced by the Adobe CS … the thing I missed that when Constrain Proportions is TURNED ON SHIFT drag does not work !

SHIFT is basically a toggle for the constrain proportions so if turned on holding shift turns it OFF and if turned off holding shift turns it ON
