Fancy Frame - an old hack from the cro-magnon era

Here’s something that might come in handy one day - an old and mostly forgotten desktop publishing trick for creating an ornate frame without having to work at it. (We used to use this one shortly after someone discovered fire.)

Choose a Google script font such as Alex Script (or any font for any desired look) then type the same characters over and over and adjust the spacing to a severe negative value. Dupe and rotate the elements, place them over a stroked object with a transparent fill, then group the lot. Viola! – instant ornate frame using only vectors and a font.

With the judicious balancing of stroke widths and object sizes, you can also create internal and external drop shadows.
