Hello; I want to morph a vector shape into a typographic character but an not finding a way to convert type to vector outlines. What am I missing?

Unfortunately there's not currently a way to convert text into Hype's vector shape elements to do this; you would need to use Hype's vector shape tools to reconstruct the font. Secondarily when doing this, you'd probably hit another limitation which is that Hype's shapes themselves do not support multiple paths, so making holes (eg for an "O") won't work without some amount of creativity.
Type shape morphs of course would be an awesome feature for Hype to have in the future.
