I was just trying out macOS 10.15 Catalina inside a virual environment.
I know it’s still in Beta, but, Hype 3.6.8 crashes on it. It doesn’t even start. Since, I’m still using Hype on my primary Mojave device, it’s not really an issue for me. But, I was just wondering if it was because of me using it inside a virtual machine, or something changed in 10.15 or some other problem with Hype?
I installed the app just fine and started it for the first time, it asked me about the newsletter and all. After that, it doesn’t start.
Thanks for the report, we’re keeping an eye on this and we will make sure Hype works before Catalina is in wider release. (A lot of the time this is a bug on Apple’s end)
To send us a bug report for this could you follow these steps?
In the Finder, hold down option and choose the “Go > Library” menu item again
Navigate to ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/ and send me any files beginning with Hype
I just installed Hype 4.0 and it also crashes. I’m sure with Catalina being so young it’s still on Apple’s end. I’m installing the second beta today and will see if this fixes the issue. I’ll be keeping an eye on this feed! Thanks for bringing it up!
EDIT: Just installed Catalina Beta 2 and Hype 4.0 still crashes. In fact when opening Hype 4.0 on Catalina Beta 1 the splash screen would open. On Catalina Beta 2 Hype 4.0 crashes before evening opening the splash screen.
I frequent more than one forum and also other software have problems with Catalina, just be patient that Apple does its job so as not to waste time for developers in such an unstable version.
